REPORT: The Pacific Security Outlook Report 2026

Regional Reports and Frameworks
27 March 2026

The 2026 Pacific Security Outlook Report provides a comprehensive assessment of the increasingly complex security environment facing the Blue Pacific region, highlighting a convergence of challenges described as a “polycrisis.”

Central among these is climate change, identified as the greatest threat to regional security, wellbeing, and prosperity, with impacts such as rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and pressures on food and water systems requiring urgent and coordinated responses.

The report also notes the influence of shifting geopolitical dynamics and global tensions, which are placing additional strain on established multilateral systems.
