This report provides an overview of the current state of available data on gender equality across the Blue Pacific region. It presents a regional picture on the 12 commitments of the revitalised Pacific Leaders Gender Equality Declaration (PLGED), informed by the 14 critical areas of the Pacific Platform for Action on Gender Equality and Women’s Human Rights 2018–2030 (PPA) and aligned to the seven thematic areas of the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent (2050 Strategy).
It draws primarily on data and information provided by Pacific Island countries to SPC through their National Statistics Offices, and through their latest Beijing+30 national reports for the period 2019–2024.1 This information has been analysed and presented by SPC as a regional picture through the Pacific Data Hub and the Beijing+30 regional review synthesis report ‘Progress towards gender equality in the Pacific’
