Child Wellbeing Summit
Aligned to the aspirations of our Pacific Leaders and priorities set out in the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) and UNICEF Pacific will jointly convene the first Pacific Child Wellbeing Summit.
The Summit provides an opportunity for Ministers and senior government officials to engage directly with community leaders and experts on key issues relating to children.
It also provides a platform to share findings from recent studies/research; share information on related issues such as the cost of violence and the importance of investment in children, including investing in the justice system to make it more accessible and responsive to children's needs; disseminate learning on context and good practices, including a focus on community protection and the role of churches as part of the prevention and response mechanism at all levels; and consider the connections between protection risks and investments required to adapt child protection systems to changes in the region.
