Climate talks
THE number of Category 4 and 5 tropical storms has increased globally since 1970 and this can be linked to the changing weather patterns as well as climate change.

Special adviser for Pacific Partnerships and International Civil Society for the COP23 presidency secretariat, Kami Taholo, made the remarks during a panel discussion organised by the International Panel on Climate Change at the University of South Pacific yesterday.

"The Fiji presidency is an ocean presidency and whether we want to be neutral, we say, it's a presidency for the vulnerable states, but if we don't get something moving through the climate change process on ocean, then we feel we are losing something," Mr Taholo said.
