USP delegation in Samoa for council meet

Executive members of the University of the South Pacific are currently in Samoa at the Alafua Campus ahead of the 82nd USP Council meeting which will be held for two days.

The delegation which included USP Pro-Chancellor Winston Thompson, Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Rajesh Chandra, Tongan Prime Minister Akilisi Pohiva, Education Ministers and representatives of the University's 12-member states and observers from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat were accorded a full Samoan traditional welcoming ceremony.

The group was also given a tour of the campus and briefed on current research activities undertaken at the University's School of Agriculture.
